Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Ghorbanali Dorri-Najafabadi, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Markazi Province, made the remarks during his Nahj al-Balagha lecture, commemorating the martyrs of the 17th of Shahrivar 1357 (September 8, 1978), which he described as one of the most bitter crimes of the Pahlavi regime. He emphasized the need to keep alive the memory of all martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, the Sacred Defense, and recent incidents.
Referring to the oppression suffered by the martyrs and the people of Tehran during that event, he said hundreds were wounded and that the incident was among the most influential events leading up to the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
The cleric strongly condemned military attacks against civilians, stating: "Attacks on ordinary people, wedding ceremonies, schools and civilian centers have no justification and are condemned under international norms and humanitarian law. These actions constitute crimes against humanity and a blatant violation of human rights."
Ayatollah Dorri-Najafabadi, pointing to Iran's recent military actions against enemy aggression, added: "Actions such as the seizure of an advanced American submarine and the targeting of vessels and oil tankers demonstrate the power and authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Americans must know that the Iranian nation will not retreat in the face of threats and pressure."
He described the only path forward for the United States as a genuine return to the path of understanding and respect for the rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing that this return must not be superficial or political, but must involve genuine recognition of the independence and sovereignty of Iran and the countries of the region.
Referring to developments in Lebanon and Palestine, the representative of the Leader in Markazi Province cited support for the oppressed nations of the region as a fixed principle of Iran, saying: "The Iranian nation will not abandon its ideals."
He also addressed the American people, saying: "Wake up to the crimes committed in your name around the world and do not allow misguided policies to tarnish the reputation of Western nations."
In conclusion, Ayatollah Dorri-Najafabadi praised the presence of 190 nights of steadfastness by the Iranian nation on various fronts, noting: "The people's presence is a manifestation of national dignity, authority and glory, and if the enemy thinks it can subdue the Iranian nation through political games and threats, it is gravely mistaken."
